Physical Education

The department under the guidance of the Physical Director who is an M.Phil., is commanding a unique privileged honour among all other Institutions in the district and the division. It is consistently winning the Inter-Divisional overall championship in Weight-Lifting, Best Physique and Power-Lifting. One student lifted two Gold Medals in the National-Level Karate Tournaments held in Bangalore and New Delhi. He was selected to represent India in the International-Level Karate Tournament held at Istanbul, Turkey. The College had its representation in the World-Level Weight-Lifting Competition for the Juniors held in Bulgaria. One student of History bagged the Gold Medal in the All-India Inter-University Weight-Lifting Tournament held at Vizag. He also won the Gold Medal in the State-Level Sub-Junior Weight-Lifting Tournament.

Yet another student of Business Administration had pocketed a Gold Medal in the National-Level Karate Tournament held in Kolkatta. One Weight-Lifter bagged the Silver Medal in the Commonwealth Games held in Sydney, Australia. A student of History won the Gold Medal and established a new record in the Junior-Level Weight-Lifting Tournament held in Chattisgarh. The College Cricket-Team lifted the VIT Trophy in the Cricket Tournament held at VIT University.

Two students of Computer Applications lifted the Gold Medal in the State-Level Weight-Lifting Tournament held at Pondicherry. The College won the Winners� Shield in the State-Level Dodge Ball Tournament and the Silver Medal in the State-Level Boxing Tournament. In addition to these coveted distinctions, the College sports personalities are imprinting their indelible mark in almost all events in the National, State, Divisional, Inter-Divisional and Inter-Collegiate level Tournaments.

More than 70 of the students have been absorbed as the University Blues to represent Thiruvalluvar University in various Inter-University Tournaments in Football, Volleyball, Handball, Weight-Lifting, Best Physique, Kabaddi, Cricket, Table-Tennis, Chess, Hockey, Power-Lifting, Ball-Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Cycling, Kho-Kho and Cross-Country Race.

The College Table-tennis, Hand ball, Ball Badminton, Football, Kabaddi and Lawn Tennis stars came First in the Inter-Collegiate-Level Tournaments. The College Chess-Team came second Best in the Pegasus South-Zone Tournament and the Lawn Tennis Team made its mark in the RIVIERA International Meet held at the VIT University.
